Remarks on Superconductivity

چکیده
0lhese notes try and compare the situation m the new superconductors, and especially the oxide ones, to those where the classical BCS approach holds. 1. "Classical" Superconductivity, a Special Case of Superfluidity A superfluid is a quantum liquid where the low temperature ground store is a correlated liquid (whether light atoms such as He or electrons) separated from excited states, for

I review recent developments in the study of strongly interacting field theories with non-zero chemical potential µ. In particular I focus on (a) the determination of the QCD critical endpoint in the (µ, T) plane; (b) superfluid condensates in Two Color QCD; and (c) Fermi surface effects in the NJL model. Some remarks are made concerning the relation of superconductivity with the sign problem.

2014 We present some remarks on special features that distinguish the phenomenology of the new high Tc oxides from that of the conventional superconductors. They include a measurable width of the critical region and a high sensitivity to crystallographic defects. A consistent Landau Ginsburg interpretation it possible, with a short coherence length 03BEab ~ 15 Å and a penetration depth 03BBL ~ ...
متن کاملRemarks on the first hundred years of superconductivity
On the occasion of centenary of superconductivity discovery I recall some facts from the first period and attempts to understand the phenomenon. It turns out that most famous physicists of the first half of XX century have tried to solve the puzzle. Bardeen, Cooper and Schrieffer succeeded in 1957. The BCS theory successfully described all known facts and offered new predictions, which soon hav...

The First National Conference on Advances in Superconductivity was the first of a series of conferences in the field of superconductivity planned to be held biannually in one of the universities or scientific research centers in the country. The goal of these meetings is to bring together groups of researchers in the field of experimental and theoretical superconductivity, to discuss their la...
